My fiancée has MS. Heat limits her mobility and outdoor activities in summer months. This vest reduces her core temperature and enables her to get outside more when the temperature is warm. Keeping a cooler with extra packs extends outdoor time, exchanging packs when required. Robust construction and easy adjustable fit. Highly recommended.I had to work on my truck I keep in a storage yard. I’m old & retired. I tried the vest at 100F (109 on skin). After 45 minutes it still had chunks that were still frozen! I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it kept me a lot cooler! Previous trip to yard without vest made me sick from sun stroke. This trip, I felt great and was able to sit inside truck with no AC. I HIGHLY recommend this vest and recommend you buy the extra UPGRADED ice packs. I’m going to buy ice pack headgear to keep my brain cool after wearing a phase change headband also that day. Keep your head cool and avoid heat stroke! It’s very easy to put on with Velcro adjusting straps & inserting ice packs is easy. I’m finding lots of uses, like mowing the yard, landscaping my property, any activity in this summers heat wave, buy it!Hot summers this jacket keeps street maintenance workers cool working outside all day.Kept comfortable. Changed bags every 2 hrs.Its a nice functional cooling vest. I recommend putting it on before your activity to keep you from getting to hot. Each set of packs only last me 1 to 2 hours but I put the extra packs in a hard shell cooler and they stay frozen all day. It is not at all bulky, fits well, very adjustable and super easy to hand wash. You will still get hot in it on hot days but it has helped me keep my core from over heating. I am prone to over heating in the dead NC summer heat. I am a horse trimmer and working on their hooves, bent over working in the heat, I could not drink enough water and would get sick from the heat. Since using this vest I have not been sick from the heat. I still get hot but not over heated. It is a little pricey but it does work well.Oddly enough, I was hotter wearing the vest than not. In concept, this is a great idea if you are standing in a drive-thru line, or sitting in a park waiting for 4th of July fireworks to start, however if you are actively moving around, I found that i was overheating more quickly with than without. Material is not very breathable and coupled with the non-breathable plastic icepacks, your body cannot breath. If you do choose to get this product, make sure to get the blue booster packs, they are cooler and last much longer.Cool concept but in the HVAC world it couldn't keep up, and the extra packs I got wouldn't get cold fast enough in the cooler from job to job. Vest would feel pretty good for about 20-30 minutes then I'd be soaked from the vest and packs holding my body heat in. One day I went through 3 shirts between sweating and the ice packs being wet from the ice water. It was more aggravation than the few minutes of cool relief. Spent more time changing the ice packs than getting cooled down. Wasn't for me.It keeps my core temp down so I can stay in the heat for 3 hours vs. 20 minutes with out it. The frozen stuff does not condense and wet the vest. It also stays frozen for as long as I am working with horses. It may last longer then 3 hours but I have not tried it. Keep it in the freezer when not using. Also, got the extra cooling green packs and they work great with the standard packs. Its not cheap but I have survived 110' heat without passing out or heat stroking. Also have friends that have used it and they are very surprised it stays cold so long. Ice cubes melt so fast but not this. Its worth the money if your outside and it recharges fast with cold water in a cooler with ice!
